We had a wonderful roast last Sunday, I personally had the Lamb’s belly which was exceptional. The meal however was only part of the story, we were served by Amy who was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Chatting to both our children, recommending menu choices with knowledge and bringing the food with a friendly face. Not just our table either, she seemed to have the same rapport with the entire dining room. Seriously impressed with the whole setup and will definitely be travelling from Bath again.

Visited for my husbands birthday after hearing plenty of good reviews & The Duck & Willow did not disappoint.
Arrived at 7.30pm without booking to find the restaurant side full, which for mid week is a good indication in my books! We were offered a table bar side no problem, which was actually a little quieter & was nicer in the long run. Starters were the spicy nduja scotch egg (amazing!) & Kleftedes. Mains were sweet pot, orange & chilli fish cakes (again lovely!) & a southern fried chicken burger. Everything was so packed with flavour, we were really impressed. Even more so with our service, lovely girl with dark hair (didn’t catch her name), she was absolutely fantastic & actually made the visit! She was friendly, funny, knowledgeable… & for me (being in retail) customer service is everything. 10/10 to the duck & willow, we will definitely be back. What a great local to have right on your doorstep. From Mr & Mrs matching (the staff will know!!)

My partner has lived down the road for about 4 years and is Coeliac, so being your typical man, sticks to what he knows! Bring on the newish girlfriend who badgers to try new places as menus are ever changing and people get on board with the spectrum of dietary requirements and he was not disappointed!
I’d checked the menu online before hand and was pleasantly surprised to see a separate gluten free menu – tick one! We rocked up yesterday evening (Sunday) and were presented with the roast menu. Panic on his face as he starts thinking he’d have to have some boring concoction…..nope!
The really lovely lady who sat us assured him that he could have anything from the roast menu, he just wouldn’t get a yorkshire pudding. She left to get drinks and he’s panicking again as usually gravy has gluten in. When she returns she says she forgot they have gluten free bread so he could have the starters too.
He queries the gravy, and with a real self assured, knowing look, she put him back in his box!
When the food came out, it looked great, and once we tucked in, found it tasted great too. The pork belly fell apart, and the gravy was delish! I thoroughly enjoyed my yorkshire pudding too! – tick two!
The third and final tick in the box was the value for money. Around £13 for the pork belly roast as a main dish, but you could have had a starter & roast main for £17!
The staff were also really lovely without a single eye roll for the dietary requirements.
We’ll definitely be back as my partner wants to give their gluten free burger a bash.

This is our new local pub, we have been several times had a few different choices from the menu and its not let us down yet. The food and service from this place is top draw for a local pub and highly recommended.

We first came here soon after the place opened, and it was promising. Now, with minor teething troubles seemingly well behind them, it was excellent. The guy at the bar who got our drinks and brought over our food was very professional, and friendly too, and we wondered if he had previously worked in a smart restaurant – his service was exceptional. Our meals – the pork belly and the chicken – were much better than ordinary pub fare, and the desserts were very impressive, especially my cheesecake. The pub’s ambience and decor were good; indeed, it’s hard to find anything at all negative to say!

I ate here on Saturday night with friends and our mistake was not to book. The restaurant was fully booked but we were happy to eat in the bar area. I had the steak that was cooked just the way I asked to be done. My partner had the pork that I had a little taste of…it was also delicious. All in all I would fully recommended getting involved but if you want a seat in the restaurant I would advise booking. 5*s from us.

I’m a big fan of the Gloucester Old Spot, so when they started advertising a new sister venue I was optimistic. And when the Duck and Willow opened I was thrilled. Firstly, because my dog is called Willow, which is kind of cool. Secondly, because it’s right by Oldbury Park Estate (Vassels Park) which is a paradise for dog walkers! Add to that the fact that D&W does all the same things well that make the GOS such a great place to eat; good food, good ale, good prices, good atmosphere. We had a baked camembert and a Duck and Willow Cheeseburger. Camembert was served with caramelised red onion and bread. Burger with chips and slaw. Both great. Finished off with chocolate brownie and ice cream. Arrived for the start of food service on a bank holiday Monday, and by the time we left the place was packed. Service was good and we were well looked after.

Firstly, make sure you book a table because it gets packed around 7pm – I’m not suprised! The service was very fast and we didn’t have to wait to get our order in. There are good options for children and vegetarians. The food came quickly and it was lovely. My mum and Grandma said the cherry and pecan tiramisu was the best pudding for a long time! The atmosphere was good and the pub was easy to find. The garden had easy access for wheelchair users. The lighting inside was retro and quircky. Their other pub is great too!
I have given this place a few visits now and it hasn’t ever let us down! Lunch with a client I was trying to impress was very successful, I’m pretty sure that the fab burgers got me a lot of Brownie points. I work on Gloucester Road so I’m used to having a whole bunch of great eateries to choose from but The Duck and Willow is pretty special. Next visit was Saturday night out with Hubby, he had the Lamb belly and has been raving about it ever since, my favourite is the Crab fish cakes… try them Book a table if you can but the bar is nice and casual for eating if you can get a seat. Congratulations to the team for getting it right, really lovely friendly and passionate staff make this pub an absolute pleasure to visit.
Having reserved a table we were seated immediately and our drinks order taken. Food order was taken on delivery of drinks, nice range of menu choices as well. Camembert starter to share, sweet potato burger and lemon chicken and pork salad ordered. All dishes were good quality food and cooked nicely with NHS discount!
Definitely return! Really friendly service very happy customers!
